Team Wynndalco has long supported College of DuPage (COD) in myriad arenas, but the 2020 Foundation Textbook Scholarship and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship are especially meaningful. Students from COD—a highly respected community college with deep roots—perhaps understand and appreciate better than most the lasting impact of a scholarship to help underwrite their dreams for higher education.
- “I’m honored to be selected as the recipient of Foundation’s Textbook Scholarship. Many of the reasons I decided to go to COD were rooted in their exceptional programs and affordability. I am deeply grateful for your willingness to support me in continuing my education with less worry about financial obstacles.”
- “Education is very important to me and any help that I receive is greatly appreciated. My family and I thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts.”
- “I am the first in my family to ever attend college. My mother raised my sister and me by herself; we were a low-income household growing up… Currently I am a full-time employee and a full-time student. There have been multiple occasions where I had to stay up late to study and complete homework because I could not financially afford to cut my hours at work. When I saw the acceptance letter, I was in tears.”
- “Being awarded this scholarship has already taken a huge amount of weight off my shoulders. Being a full-time college student who also works and helps out at home is hard… Knowing I will be receiving this scholarship has motivated me more than ever…and now I feel that finances will not hold me back.”
Additionally, Wynndalco made a significant donation toward COD’s Robotics Team and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE chapter). STEM education is a major focus at COD, which mirrors Wynndalco’s mindset as technology opportunities continue to grow exponentially. Benefiting some from the Engineering and Technology Club, whose students seek to become engineers, technicians, and design-project enthusiasts, the scholarship supports the overall mission of providing a diverse, flexible, open and constructive environment for prospective engineers and technicians to work together on projects, gain experience, and promote engineering and technology.
